Russian Invasion of Israel - 6. Understanding Prophesies

Much of Bible prophecy is in form of parables and type pictures. To the born again believe this is an aid to our understanding, while at the same time helping to hide the true meaning of the Scriptures from the non-believers.

Matthew 13:10 Then the disciples came, and said unto him, Why do you speak unto them in parables? 11 He answered and said unto them; because it is given unto you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of the sky, but to them it is not given.

Many prophecies and visions come with a breach in them.

Why does God put breach in some Bible prophecies? Because the understanding of the mysteries of the kingdom are only given those who have eyes to see and ears to hear. While to those who do not have eyes to see nor ears to hear no understanding of the mysteries shall be given, and even that which they have will be taken away from them. These breaches bring confusion to the spiritually blind and deceived, but the Holy Spirit gives understanding and revelation to those who are filled with the Holy Spirit, the Spirit of Revelation and Truth.

Before I go on any further, let me explain what I mean by the word breach. I would like you to imagine that I have in my hand a chart with every prophecy and vision written in the Bible concerning the first and second comings of Jesus Christ, written across the page. Every line of this chart represents a prophecy, and they have all been lined up in chronological order. At one end, it starts with creation and at the other end; it ends after the 1,000-year reign of Jesus Christ on earth. If you were to go to the point where Jesus Christ was crucified in any one of these prophecies, you would find it lined up with the crucifixion in every other prophecy that mentions this event. Likewise you could line up the Second Coming or any other event.

We do however have a problem with this chart, because on inspection we will discover, according to the Scriptures, time, as we currently know it appears to be only 5,000 years long.

That is to say, if we chronologically line up all the prophecies about Jesus Christ from creation until the end of the 1,000-year reign of Jesus Christ, we would find that there are only 5,000 years from creation till the end of the Jesus Christ 1,000 year reign on earth. Yet that does not agree with history; for creation was approximately 6,000 years ago, and the 1,000 year reign of Jesus Christ has not even started yet.

So we need to look a little closer at our chronological chart. When we do, it looks as if someone as taken hold of the chart and torn it in two. So that now every prophecy concerning the First and Second Coming of Jesus Christ has an ever growing breach. In most of these prophecies the breach is already about 2,000 years wide, in some the breach is already about 2,600 years wide.

On one side of the breach we have about nine tenths of the chart, on which is recorded things that have come to pass. That is, it is prophecy that has already come to pass. On the remaining tenth of the chart, we have things recorded that have not yet come to pass. That is things that have been prophesied but have not yet come to pass.

In Isaiah 42 verses 8 & 9 God has this to say to us:

Isaiah 42:8 I am the LORD, that is My name; and My glory I will not give to another, nor My praise to carved images. 9 Look and see, the former things have come to pass, and new things I declare; before they spring forth I tell you of them.

On one side of the breach are the former things that have come to pass. On the other side of the breach are the new things God declares to us, and tells us about before they spring forth.

Probably the best known of these prophecies that have been torn in two is found in Isaiah chapter 61. Luke records Jesus Christ, reading from this passage.

Luke 4:18 “The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, because He has anointed Me to preach the good news of the gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the broken hearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and the recovery of sight to the blind, to send away ones having been oppressed with deliverance, 19 to preach the acceptable year of the Lord.   (Words in italics added

Jesus Christ preached the acceptable year of the Lord. He then closes the book, and says, “Today this Scripture is fulfilled in your hearing.”

Now let us compare what Jesus read with Isaiah chapter 61 verse 2; which says:

To preach the acceptable year of the LORD, and the day of vengeance of our God.”

Why did Jesus stop mid verse? Because the acceptable year of the LORD began the moment Jesus Christ committed Himself to die on the cross for your sins. Therefore, when Jesus Christ read this prophecy, the first part of this prophecy was already fulfilled, and the acceptable year of the Lord had already begun. However, the day of the vengeance of our God was still to come, and will not come until Jesus Christ’s Second Coming. Then, and not before then, Jesus Christ will declared the day of the vengeance of our God.

Once Jesus Christ preached the acceptable year of the LORD, God tore the prophetic calendar in two, causing a breach right through the middle of the acceptable year of the LORD.

Why? Because God in His Love and mercy for us, does not want to send anyone to the pit of Sheol to suffer eternal torment and damnation. So He has caused a breach in time, and extended the acceptable year of the LORD from one year to over 2,000 years, so as many as possible can come to repentance and accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Deliverer and so be saved.

John 3:16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. 17 For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.

This is good news; it is still the acceptable year of the LORD. But be warned;  the day of vengeance of our God is at hand. The clock may start ticking any day now. Or you may even be killed on the way home tonight and go straight to the pit of Sheol. However you can be saved from eternal damnation, by simply repenting of your rebellion against God, and accepting Jesus Christ has your Lord and Deliverer . Today is the day of salvation; for you, tomorrow may be too late.

We could cross the breach any day now, but perhaps there are a few things that need to fall into place first. Once we cross the breach, two of the first things that will happen according to the Scriptures are:

1: Ten nations from what was once the Roman Empire will come together again, to become the end time empire of the beast.

2: The Jewish temple in Jerusalem will be rebuilt.

Other prophecies with breach periods include most of the prophecies recorded in the book of Daniel, and some of the prophecies concerning the fall of Babylon.

There are also many prophecies that were only fulfilled in type, or in part, as a type picture of their final fulfillment which is still to come after the breach period. Some of these prophecies may appear to be fulfilled a number of times, but they are still to be fulfilled in full after the breach period.

• Before the breach, John the Baptist came in the spirit of Elijah (Matthew 11:14). In a time yet to come Elijah himself shall come again in the flesh (Malachi 4:5).

• Before the breach, the Jews returned to the promise land. In a time yet to come we will see a return of both the Children of Judah and the Children of Israel.

• Before the breach, on the Day of Pentecost 3,000 Jews accepted Jesus Christ as their Lord and Deliverer. In a time yet to come, in one day 144,000 Children of Judah and Children of Israel will accepted Jesus Christ as their Lord and Deliverer.

Often prophecies and visions will give you a multiple number of visions of the same thing from different angles jumping back and forward in time, sometimes telling you of three or four things in order, then jumping back in time before giving you another look at three or four things. This can be likened to a woman looking at a new dress in a number of mirrors. First she looks at the front, then the back, the one side and then back to the front. Or it can be likened to a number of people looking at a parade, and then each in turn describing what to them the highlights were. They all saw the same thing, but what they all describe may be very different. Again, God does this so we with eyes to see can see more clearly, while to those without eyes to see, it often just becomes one big blur.
