Death is not the end of life.

By Kenneth Allan Clark.

Let us consider a caterpillar; a caterpillar like all living creatures will one day die.

But when a caterpillar leaves this life, does it realy die, or does it continue to live on in another form in another place?

When a caterpillar leaves this life it does not die, it goes to another place, which we call a chrysalis, where it lives on and is provided

 for in peace and comfort.

 alt

alt

After this time the caterpillar is resurrected to a new life, no longer as a caterpillar but as a butterfly, and is raised up as a beautiful being into a new glorious life, a life far far better than it could ever imagine. But what happens if the caterpillar falls because of sin?

alt

He falls short of God’s glory, he falls short of the glorious life God had intended for him. Instead he will fall into a place of torment, and he will never ever be raised up to become the glorious being God created him to be.

alt

Now let us consider an egg. An egg is a living being (the egg yoke) who lives in a body (the egg shell) and it has a source of life (the egg white).

alt

When the egg's source of life is no more, the egg's body (the egg shell) is broken and dies.

alt

But the living being, (the egg yoke) does not die, it leaves its broken body behind, and lives on for a time in a place we call a nest,  where he is provided for in peace and comfort.

After this time, the living being is resurrected to a new life, no longer as an egg but as a magnificent bird, and is raised up to a new and glorious life, a life far far better than he could ever imagine.

alt

But what happens if the bird falls because of sin? He falls short of God’s glory; he falls short of the glorious life God had intended for him. Instead he will fall down into a place of torment, and he will never ever be raised up to become that glorious being God created him to be.

alt

Now let us consider a man.

Genesis 2:7  And the LORD God formed man of the dust out of the earth, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.

alt

So man is a soul, who lives in a body, made from the dust of the earth, and has a spirit which comes to him by the breath of God.

Because man is an eternal being, death is not the end of man, but death does bring about the separation all three parts of man’s being.

alt

With the spirit of man being returned to God who gave it; and man’s body then returns to the earth from which it was formed; and man’s soul is carried by the angels of God to man’s long home in Paradise, which is a place of comfort, joy, rest and peace (Ecclesiastes 12:5 – 7 & Luke 16:22).

alt

But what happens if the man falls because of sin? He then falls short of God’s glory, and the glorious life God had intended for him. Instead he will fall down into a place of torment, and he will never ever be raised up to become the glorious being God created him to be.

Did you know, God’s word says that we all have sinned and fallen short of God’s glory (Romans 3:23)? Therefore to be cast into eternal torment is our just reward for our sins.

alt

But God so loved all mankind, that he gave his only begotten Son, Jesus Christ to suffer and die for the sins of all mankind; for you; for me. Jesus suffered and died on the cross for our sins, so that whoever repents of his sins, forsakes all other gods and believes in him should not suffer eternal torment, but shall have everlasting life.

For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through him might be saved. He that believes in him is not condemned, but he that believes not is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God (John 3:14 – 18).

alt

There is a day coming when the Lord Jesus Christ shall return. On that day the dead in Christ shall be raised with a new glorious body, into a new eternal glorious life.

But those who refused in this life to accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Saviour will be cast back into the place of eternal torment. Today the choice is yours. Where do you want to spend eternity? Will you today accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour, before it is too late?

If you will accept Jesus today, say this aloud.

“Dear Father God, today I choose to turn my life around. I choose no longer live my life to please myself; I choose instead to love and serve you and to love others as myself. Dear Jesus Christ I now turn from my old wrong and sinful ways and I make a commitment to you. From now on I choose to live a good and right life, living as you did, always to please God the Father. I know in my own strength I can never do this, so I ask you to please help me. Father God I ask you to forgive my many past sins, and to forgive me and put me back on the right path whenever I do what is wrong. Please look after me. Help me to find a God-fearing church, where people will love me. Help me to make a public commitment to love and serve you, and to always be ready to share the faith and hope I have in Jesus Christ with others. I thank you Jesus for coming into my life, and I thank you Father for your Spirit, by which I am now born again into your family.”
