I was asked the question by a good friend of mine, “When is the marriage of the Lamb (Jesus Christ) to the bride (the Church of Jesus Christ)? Will it be before the millennium reign of Jesus Christ or after?”

Is there a delay between the receiving of the bride and marriage?

In a time of war, when an Israelite man desired a woman from amongst the captives has his wife. This was allowed. However from the time he took her to his home to be his wife, for a whole month he had to treat her with honour and respect, with no sexual activity between the two of them. Only after this month of living in the family home, with the extended family, could the marriage take place. (Deuteronomy 21:10 – 13).

Joseph took Marry to be his wife, three or more months before the birth of Jesus. Yet the marriage was not consummated until at least a week after the birth of Jesus (Leviticus 12:2)

Matthew 1:22 Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying, 23 Look and see, a virgin shall be with child, and give birth to a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us. 24 Then Joseph being raised from sleep did as the angel of the Lord had commanded him, and took unto him his wife: 25 And knew her not till she had given birth to her firstborn son: and he called his name Jesus.

2,000 years ago, (and even well into the 1800’s) it was not unusual for a man, or a trusted friend or servant, to walk a number of days to gather the woman chosen to be his wife. Then having taken her to be his wife, they had to walk that same number of days back home with her, before the marriage could take place.

Consider Esther. After Esther was taken by the king’s servants, to be the bride of King Ahasuerus of Persia. Then Esther had to go through twelve months of purification before the day her marriage to the king.

Esther 2:12 Now when every maid's turn was come to go in to king Ahasuerus, after that she had been twelve months, according to the manner of the women, (for so were the days of their purifications accomplished, six months with oil of myrrh, and six months with sweet odours, and with other things for the purifying of the women;) 13 Then this way came every maiden unto the king; whatsoever she desired was given her to go with her out of the house of the women unto the king's house.

Consider Abraham. Abraham sent his bondservant on a journey of many days to gather a wife for his son Isaac. Having taken Rebekah to be the wife of Isaac, the bondservant then had to journey many days back home with her, before the marriage could take place. Just as Abraham sent his bondservant to take a woman to be the wife of Isaac the son of Abraham; so to God will send his servants, the angels to gather his Son’s wife from the four winds, from one end of the sky to the other.

Matthew 24:30 Then shall the sign of the Son of man appear in the sky: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of the sky with power and great glory. 31 And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of the sky to the other.

The question is not whether there will be a delay between the receiving of the bride and marriage of the Lamb, but how long will that delay be?

Prophecies with a breach in them.

Different Scholars and Prophets call them different things. To me a prophecy with a “gap” in it, is a prophecy, which within the prophecy itself it is clearly evident that there is a gap in the prophecy. And, or, there are pacific coming events clearly prophesied as going to happen within the gap period.

To me a prophecy with a “breach” in it, is a prophecy which is divided into two parts. At first the division of the two parts was not clearly evident. But now with hindsight, to those with eyes to see, we are able to look back and see how the first part of the prophecy was fulfilled by 70 A.D. But the second part, not matter how we twist and turn it, we cannot make it fit. Why? Because there is breach in vast majority of end time prophecies, between 70 A.D. and the signing of the 7 year covenant, (Daniel 9:27). Some people try to interpret the prophecies, without allowing for the breach. But no matter no how much they twist and turn the prophecies, historically they just cannot make it fit.

When I say the breach is between 70 A.D and the signing of the 7 year covenant, this is the ball park area. Sometimes with a hard hitter the ball will go beyond this area. At least one ball (one prophecy) goes back another 657 years, and at least one goes forward another 3½ years.

Probably the most well know and accepted of these prophecies is found in Isaiah.

Isaiah 61:1 “The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me, because the LORD has anointed me to preach good tidings to the humble; he has sent me to heal the broken hearted, to proclaim deliverance to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound; 2 To preach the acceptable year of the LORD, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn, 3 To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they may be called trees of justice, the planting of the LORD, that he might be glorified.” 4 And they shall rebuild the old ruins, they shall raise up the former desolations, and they shall repair the ruined cities, the desolations of many generations.

After his baptism, when Jesus Christ came to Nazareth. And being ask to teach in their synagogue, he opened the book of Isaiah to this passage and read.

Luke 4:18 The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has anointed me to preach the Good News to the poor; he has sent me to heal the broken hearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at free them that are bruised, 19 To preach the acceptable year of the Lord. 20 And he closed the book, and he gave it again to the minister, and sat down. And the eyes of all them that were in the synagogue were fastened on him. 21 And he began to say unto them, This day is this scripture fulfilled in your ears.

Why did Jesus Christ stop in the middle of the prophecy? Why did he not read the full prophecy? Because up to and including the preaching of the acceptable year of the Lord, was the purpose of Jesus Christ first coming. But day of vengeance of our God and comforting all that mourn will not happen until Christ second coming.

And they shall rebuild the old ruins, they shall raise up the former desolations, and they shall repair the ruined cities, the desolations of many generations. These are things that will happen during the millennium reign of Jesus Christ. So in hindsight we can clearly see the breach (of nearly 2,000 years now) in the prophecy, between former things that have come to pass and the new things which are yet to spring forth.

Isaiah 42:8 I am the LORD, that is My name; and My glory I will not give to another, nor My praise to carved images. 9 Look and see, the former things have come to pass, and new things I declare; before they spring forth I tell you of them.

So in the prophecy of Isaiah 61:1 – 4; We have a clear breach between the events of the first and second coming of Jesus Christ. A breach which is common to all Biblical prophecies (prior to The Revelation of Christ) that mention both the first and second coming of Jesus Christ.

The Breach between The First and The Second Resurrection.

After pray fully studying the Scriptures, I find there is also another breach in Biblical prophecies. This second breach, will be of 1,000 years, covering the period of Jesus Christ Millennium Reign. Like the earlier breach there is an unannounced divide in these prophecies. Which in these prophecies comes between the first and second resurrection. However, where the Bible as a whole remains largely silent as to what happens during the earlier breach, until we get to “Christ Revelation”; the Bible does not remain as silent in regards to what will happen during the second breach.

Up till two weeks ago, regardless whether I was reading the writings of the Old Testament Prophets, the teachings of Jesus Christ or the writings of the New Testament Apostles. To me it seemed clearly evident, that there was a day coming in which both the justified and the wicked would be raised from the dead. The justified too eternal life and the wicked too eternal damnation.

In these prophecies that mention both the first and second resurrections, both event appear to happen on the same day as the Lord appears.

Daniel 12:1 “At that time Michael shall stand up, the great prince who stands for the sons of your people; and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never been, ever since there was a nation, even to that time. And at that time your people shall be delivered, everyone that shall found written in the book. 2 And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, some to shame and everlasting contempt.”

In the parable of the sheep and the goats, Jesus Christ says to the sheep (the justified in Christ) Come, you blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world. And to the goats (the wicked) he says, depart from me, you cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels (Matthew 25:31-46). So again the two resurrections are spoken of as both happening on the same day.

II Thessalonians 1:3 We are bound to thank God always for you, brothers and sisters, as it is fitting, because that your faith grows exceedingly, and the love of every one of you all toward each other abounds. 4 So that we ourselves boast of you in the churches of God for your patience and faith in all your persecutions and tribulations that you endure. 5 Which is evidence of the just judgment of God that you may be counted worthy of the kingdom of God, for which you also suffer. 6 Seeing it is a just thing with God to repay tribulation to them that trouble you; 7 And to you who are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from the sky with his mighty angels, 8 in flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the good news of our Lord Jesus Christ; 9 who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power; 10 When he shall come to be glorified in his saints, and to be admired in all them that believe (because our testimony among you was believed) in that day.

Just as the three children of Israel; Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego walked in the fire, in the presence of God, while the fire consumed the soldiers who threw them in the fire (Daniel 3:19 – 27), so to when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from the sky with his mighty angels, in flaming fire. The servants of the Lord will pass safely through the fire, while the wicked shall become as ash under our feet.

Isaiah 26:19 Your dead shall live; together with their dead body they shall arise. Awake and sing for joy, you who dwell in dust; for your dew is like the dew of herbs, and the earth shall cast out the dead. 20 Come, my people, enter your chambers, and shut your doors behind you. Hide yourself as it were for a little moment, until the indignation has passed over. 21 For look and see, the LORD comes out of His place to punish the inhabitants of the earth for their iniquity; the earth also shall disclose her blood, and shall no more cover her slain.

Malachi 4:1 For, look and see, the day comes, that shall burn as an oven; and all the proud, yes, and all that do wickedly, shall be stubble: and the day that comes shall burn them up, says the LORD of hosts, that it shall leave them neither root nor branch. 2 But unto you that fear my name shall the Sun of justice arise with healing in his wings; and you shall go forth, and leap like fatted calves from the stall. 3 And you shall tread down the wicked; for they shall be ashes under the soles of your feet in the day that I shall do this, says the LORD of hosts.

John 5:28 Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice, 29 and shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation.

Jesus Christ himself says there is an hour coming (meaning about 60 minutes) in which the following will happen.

1: All who are in the grave (like Lazarus) shall hear his voice and come forth (John 11:43-44).
2: They that have done good, unto the resurrection of life.
3: And they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation.
So according to the teachings of Jesus Christ, (in agreement with the Scriptures) there will only be one hour at the most between the resurrection of the justified unto eternal life, and the resurrection of the wicked unto eternal damnation.

Yet when we get to Revelation, we are told that there is 1,000 years between the resurrection of the justified unto eternal life, and the resurrection of the wicked unto eternal damnation.

Revelation 20:4b and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years. 5 But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection. 6 Blessed and holy is he that has part in the first resurrection: on such the second death has no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.

Does God lie? No! But he is the Lord of time, and if he wills, he can stretch time, shrink time or make a breach in time. There God can and will make a breach between the first resurrection and the second resurrection. It so happens, that before the breach and at the time of the first resurrection, Jesus Christ will descend from above in the clouds to receive his bride. Whom Christ will marry on the other side of the breach.

We The Church are The Temple of God.

We The Church are The Temple of God, the dwelling place of God. Both the Apostles Paul and Peter describe the saints of Jesus Christ as being living stones fitted and knitted together to make the Church of Jesus Christ.

1 Corinthians 3:16 Know you not that you are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwells in you? 17 If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple you are.

1Peter 2:4 to whoever comes near. Christ the living stone, rejected indeed by men, but chosen of God, and precious, 5 you also, as living stones, are built up a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.

Ephesians 2:19 Now therefore you are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints, and of the household of God; 20 And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone; 21 In whom all the building is closely joined together grows unto an holy temple in the Lord: 22 In whom you also are built.

In this life, we the Church are the Temple of God.

However when we come out of the Millennium Reign of Jesus Christ we the Church and the redeemed  Children of Israel, are the New Jerusalem and the bride of Christ.

Revelation 21:1  And I saw a new sky and a new earth: for the first sky and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea. 2 And I John saw the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down from God out of the sky, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. 3 And I heard a great voice out of the sky saying, Look and see, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God.

Revelation 21:9 And there came unto me one of the seven angels which had the seven vials full of the seven last plagues, and talked with me, saying, Come here, I will show you the bride, the Lamb's wife. 10  And he carried me away in the spirit to a great and high mountain, and showed me that great city, the holy Jerusalem, descending out of the sky from God, 11 Having the glory of God: and her light was like unto a stone most precious, even like a jasper stone, clear as crystal; 12 And it had a wall great and high, and had twelve gates, and at the gates twelve angels, and names written thereon, which are the names of the twelve tribes of the children of Israel: 13 On the east three gates; on the north three gates; on the south three gates; and on the west three gates. 14 And the wall of the city had twelve foundations, and in them the names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb.

So I concluded that we the Church of Christ, at the end of the Millennium Reign of Jesus Christ, become the Bride of Christ.
